*Stock finance is commonly the term used for businesses in sectors such as Retail, Wholesale and Distribution that require cash for stock which is not linked to a confirmed order of a customer

These are sectors that tend to hold the most stock where the business is selling a product that is tangible and or finished good.

Lenders feel more comfortable knowing that the business has a track record selling the particular stock in question or has a client base whether business to consumer or business to business related clients.

*A stock finance facility is at times called by some Trade Finance which on the other hand is linked to a customer's order (Purchase Order) were the business owner wishes to pay a supplier in advance and receive favourable credit terms for doing so.
